Background information
ARISE is a European Economic Interest
Grouping registered in Brussels, Belgium, with founding members from
Belgium, Sweden and United Kingdom. It is a non-profit service
organisation, operating in the research domain between academia, industry,
and government. It aims at the initiation and creative networking of
European multidisciplinary resources for systems projects on transport,
informatics and ecology with a focus on the fields of Intelligent
Transport Systems, Systems Engineering and Human Factors.
ARISE was established in 1992 to act as a
joint administrative and contractual entity in European Transport research
and development, in a wide variety of transport modes and specialisations.
The group is based on the experience and competence of its members (and/or
associated members), and can provide expertise in the areas of Human
Factors, Telematics Systems, Transport Economics, Socio-Economic
Evaluation, Safety, Public Transport, Traffic Management and Control,
Logistics and Environment. It also has substantial experience from
management of collaborative projects established in several European
contexts and programmes.
Experiences and competences
ARISE has a substantial experience in international R&D projects,
and other activities, very often funded by the European Commission.
